China Train Ticket Service

As one of three main train stations in the city of Beijing, Beijing South Railway Station was put into service in 2008, along with the operation of Beijing – Tianjin Intercity High-Speed Railway. It is the biggest and the second busiest train station in the city. This station serves as the terminus for high-speed trains from Beijing to Xi’an, Guangzhou, Changsha and Wuhan.

Beijing South Railway Station is approximately 7 kilometers (4 miles) away from Tiananmen Square,8 kilometers (5 miles) from Beijing Railway Station and 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Beijing Capital International Airport,and about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Beijing Daxing International Airport.

Beijing South Railway Station Transportation

Beijing South Station serves as a crucial transportation hub where travelers can conveniently transfer to various modes of transportation such as the subway, buses, and taxis.

This station integrates multiple transportation options including Beijing Subway Lines 4 and 14, as well as surface buses, facilitating seamless transfers for passengers. It stands as an integrated transport hub encompassing high-speed trains, intercity trains, subways, and buses, offering travelers a range of convenient travel choices.

  • Subway: take Subway Lines 4 and 14 to reach Beijing South Station.
  • Public buses: reach the North-South Square at Beijing South Station. Alight and walk to the entrance to board the bus. There are multiple bus routes such as 102, 106, and 20 at the Beijing South Station North Square bus hub. During the night, you can opt for the night routes: Night 15, Night 17, and Night 24 to depart from the station area.
  • Taxi/Rideshare: can directly take you to Beijing South Station, with the recommended drop-off location being the east (west) entrance of Beijing South Station. It is advised to be dropped off at the east (west) entrance of Beijing South Station, where you can wait for your departure after passing through security checks.

From Beijing Railway Station to Beijing South Railway Station

Take Line 2 to Xuanwumen Station, then transfer to Line 4 to reach Beijing South Station, with a total journey time of approximately 30 minutes.

From Capital International Airport Terminal 2 to Beijing South Railway Station

Subway

Route 1:Capital Airport Line → Subway Line 5 → Subway Line 14

  • Distance: 37.6 kilometers, approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, passing through 14 stations, with 3 transfers and a 533-meter walk.
  • Detailed instructions: Walk approximately 230 meters to Terminal 2 - Take the Capital Airport Line, pass 3 stations to reach Beixinqiao station - Take Subway Line 5, pass 8 stations, arrive at Puhuangyu station - Take Subway Line 14, pass 3 stations, arrive at Beijing South Station station.

Route 2:Capital Airport Line → Subway Line 5 → Subway Line 7 → Subway Line 4 Daxing Line

  • Distance: 37.1 kilometers, approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, passing through 15 stations, with 4 transfers and a 527-meter walk.
  • Detailed instructions: Walk approximately 230 meters to Terminal 2 - Take the Capital Airport Line, pass 3 stations to reach Beixinqiao station - Take Take Subway Line 5, pass 6 stations, arrive at Ciqikou station - Take Subway Line 7, pass 4 stations, arrive at Caishikou station - Take Subway Line 4 Daxing Line, pass 2 stations, arrive at Beijing South Station station.

Airport Bus

At the North Bus Hub, there is also a shuttle bus to the Capital Airport, called the Beijing Capital Airport Bus [Beijing South Station Line]. It starts from Beijing South Station and terminates at Terminal 3 of the Capital Airport, making stops at a total of 6 bus stations.

  • Airport Bus Route: Beijing South Station - Fanggu Road North Entrance - Shuangjingqiao North (Service Road) - Guomao (South Air China Hotel) - Capital Airport Terminal 2 - Capital Airport Terminal 3
  • Distance: approximately 44.79 kilometers, and the journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • The operating hour: from 06:00 to 20:30.

Express Route 802

Starting from Beijing South Station, passing through Dongzhimen, Wangjing, and other areas, it eventually arrives at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of the Capital International Airport. The entire journey takes about 70 minutes, with departures every 20-40 minutes and a ticket price of 30 yuan.

Taxi

You may also opt to take a taxi to the Capital International Airport. Taxi fares typically range from 100 to 150 yuan, with the total travel time lasting around 1 hour. If departing from Beijing South Station, you can wait for a vehicle in the designated taxi waiting area within the station.

From Beijing Daxing Airport to Beijing South Railway Station

Subway

  • Route 1: Take the Daxing Airport Line from Daxing Airport Station for 2 stops, alight at Caoqiao Station, transfer to Line 19 (towards Mudanyuan), travel for 1 stop, then exit at Jingfengmen Station. From there, make an approximate 310-meter walk inside the station, board Line 14 (towards Shangezhuang) for 1 stop, and finally get off at Beijing South Station Metro Station. A short walk of about 10 meters will lead you to Beijing South Station. This route takes approximately 1 hour.
  • Route 2: Board the Daxing Airport Line at Daxing Airport Station for 2 stops, disembark at Caoqiao Station, walk approximately 450 meters to transfer to Line 10 (outer ring). Travel for 1 stop, then change at Jiaomen West Station with a short walk of about 40 meters to board Line 4 Daxing Line (towards Anheqiao North) for 2 stops. Alight at Beijing South Station Metro Station and walk about 10 meters to reach Beijing South Station. This route also takes around 1 hour.

Airport Bus

Take the Beijing Daxing Airport Bus for Beijing South Station Line. Board at the city bus waiting area on the east side of the first floor of the terminal building. Departures are scheduled between 10:00-15:00, passing through You'anmen West and terminating at Beijing South Station. The ticket price is 40 yuan, and the journey takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Taxi or Ride-hailing Services

Directly take a taxi or ride-hailing service from Beijing Daxing Airport to Beijing South Station. The distance is approximately 48 kilometers, and the journey typically takes about 55 minutes, with a fare of around 155 yuan. It is recommended to be dropped off at the East (or West) entrance of Beijing South Station for easy access to the waiting area after passing through security.

Facilities at Beijing South Station

Beijing South Station spans an impressive 320,000 square meters, featuring 24 tracks and 13 platforms. The main structure extends from north to south across 5 levels: the elevated waiting hall, platform track level, transfer hall, and the stations for Metro Line 4 and Metro Line 14. This layout comprises 2 above-ground levels and 3 below-ground levels.

The platforms are situated on the ground level, while the elevated waiting area is on the second floor, with a central standalone waiting room. Ticket offices are located at the four corners, with entrance halls on the east and west sides. Moving from north to south, there are various waiting areas capable of accommodating 10,500 passengers simultaneously.

The station is equipped with 84 ticket windows and 39 self-service ticket machines. Automated ticket inspection systems handle all entry checks into the station.

Service

Information Desk

The information desk is located on the second floor beside the waiting lounge, provides enquiry service. You can ask for information about boarding gate or train schedules at the information desk.

Service Center

The service center is also located on the second floor between the No. 16 and No. 17 boarding gates, providing service specially for travelers who are pregnant or handicapped. The service center offers assistance with ticket booking, ticket collection, check-in and check-out. Moreover, there is a breastfeeding area and a waiting room for handicapped travelers in the service center.

Wheelchair Reservation

Wheelchairs can be rent at the service center on the second floor. The retal service is free of charge. But a deposit of RMB600 (90 USD) is required, which will be fully refunded when the wheelchair is returned.
