Seoul Station

Opened in 1925, Seoul Station is the largest train station, also a comprehensive transportation hub in the city of Seoul. It is the terminal station of high-speed railways of Gyeongbu Line and Gyeongui Line, as well as the interchange station for Lines 1 and 4 of the Seoul Metro. This station is connected to Incheon International Airport by Airport Railroad Express (AREX).

Platforms

• Platforms 1-2: Nuriro train for Chungbuk Line and Janghang Line.
• Platforms 3-6: ITX-Saemaeul train for Gyeongbu Line and Gyeongjeon Line; Mugunghwa-ho train for Gyeongbu Line and Gyeongjeon Line.
• Platforms 7-14: KTX train for Gyeongbu Line and Donghae Line.

History

• 1925: the station was put into service.
• 1947: the station was renovates and renamed "Gyeongseong Station".
• 2004: platforms for KTX trains were put into service.
• 2005: the station was renamed Seoul Station.
• 2008: the Janghang Line was electrified. Nuriro trains between Seoul and Sinchang departed from Seoul Station.
• 2014: ITX-Saemaeul train on Gyeongbu Line started to depart from Seoul Station.
• 2014: ITX-Saemaeul train on Gyeongjeon Line started to depart from Seoul Station.
